I was born in Palo Alto, California, when disco was beginning to go out of style. I have been making art and playing music since I was a child. I am a sixth generation Californian; my kin traveled to San Francisco from Germany. They came to strike it rich during the Gold Rush and instead ended up butchers and some of the first settlers of San Francisco.

I recently moved to California, where I am in the Graduate Visual Arts Department at the University of California at San Diego . I graduated from the Painting Department at the Rhode Island School of Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and I have exhibited my work in California, Rhode Island, New York, and Massachusetts.
